March Madness Brings April Poets

This a.m. I lay in bed listening to NPR and I thought I was hearing March Madness verse on Bill Littlefield's "Only a Game" program, which encourages verse.  It has the annual tradition of Super Bowl haiku and Littlefield himself sometimes does commentary in lyric verse.  However, the time was later than I had thought and I was listening to Weekend Edition Saturday.  This is a great melding of the written and spoken word, fun performance art.  Check it out: http://www.npr.org/2013/03/23/175119408/rhymed-wrap-ncaa-so-far-in-a-poem.

It led me to thinking how quickly the end of March has come and you know what comes after March ... Poetry Month!  Get ready for Open Mic Poetry Night on Friday, 12 April.
