- Larry's birthday
- Larry & Carolyn's wedding anniversary
- Carolyn's mother's anniversary of retirement from Grumman Data Systems
- Susan B Anthony's birthday
- and this year, Mardi Gras (Shrove Tuesday), Ash Wednesday and the start of Catholic (versus Orthodox Christian) Lenten Season
